From Fox59.com:

Family and friends honored the life of Pike Township firefighter James Clayton Shelly at Calvary Temple Church Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
Hundreds of those who knew Shelly and some fellow firefighters who didn't gathered to pay their respects.

Shelly was killed in a car accident June 9th when a box truck collided with his Chevy Avalanche in Lawrence,
Indiana.
Two of Shelly's children were in the car and are recovering. His wife was driving a separate car behind him and saw it happen.

Shelly's entire fire department was there in uniform to show their respect for the man who they said loved to help others. Several Lawrence firefighters attended the service as well. They were some of the first responders on the scene of the accident that claimed the 35 year old's life.

Many of them called James Shelly, "Jim" or "Clay" for his middle name.
All who knew him said he was a family man and was always dedicated to his job.
According to the Pike Township Fire Department, Shelly joined the department in 2009 and was a member of the PTFD Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions can be made to the James Clayton "Jim" Shelly Memorial Fund, in care of the Firefighters Credit Union, PNC Bank and/or National Bank.
